In December 2011, Kiki Wu had completed her studies and was ready to celebrate successfully being a recipient of the HCSF during her High School education and moving into her chosen career in marketing.
Many of the scholarship holders gathered together to celebrate, with support from Coles Broadway and the organising committee along with the scholarship holders helping to prepare the feast.
The Ultimo Public School principal, Nic Accaria, came along to the event, as did a Board member of the Community Bank which had recently donated $500 to the Scholarship Fund.
Margaret Wood provided an inspirational talk on the talents of the young people there and the real contribution they make to our community.
Two scholarship holders who have completed University and now have Law degrees act as Treasurer and Promotions Coordinator on the HCSF Committee. What they have benefited as a scholarship holder, they now are keen to contribute back to this program.
Former Lord Mayor of Sydney City Council presents a drawing of the Harris Uniting Church Centre to Julie Harris direct descendant of Surgeon John Harris first European settler of Ultimo at the second Harris Community scholarship presentation in 1991 at UTS Broadway. Julie became a quadriplegic in 1990 Julie died in 2003.
